Cody Osborn Accepted the 2022 Award in Las Vegas!

A few comments from Cody's acceptance of the 2022 Ladies Choice Award . . .

"I am very happy to accept this award! Walther strives to get people to become involved in shooting and to become a shooting enthusiast, and fo for that to happen you must have a good experience. The P22 is a great starter gun and we hope that those who use it will become Grand Master USPCA Shooters, competitive and personal defensive shooters . . . and ultimately, all around gun enthusiasts!"

Why WALTHER ARMS is a 2022 LADIES CHOICE AWARD WINNER

1. Exceeding The Competition

Women have gravitated to the Walther P22 90% of the time which is why the P22 model has consistently been among the multiple year recipients of the Ladies Choice Award! Every student who takes a beginner or handgun carry class with us has the opportunity to shoot the Walther P22 which is how the P22's SFWA runs on the line has now exceeded 2 million rounds shot through 4 guns! Although the Walther P22 requires the higher velocity 22 LR rounds, the gun is preferred 7-to-1 over its competitor's version. The reason is the feel of the grip of the gun and its overall sleekness. {The backstrap of the grip can be changed as well to help ensure the best fit possible for women of many sized palms and finger lengths.) In the more than 2 million rounds now fired through the Walther P22s there have been very few failures, which helps keep the confidence of new shooters higher and avoids interruptions due to malfunctions. Many women have chosen to carry the Walther P22 for their everyday carry gun because they can easily operate the action, reach the magazine release, slide stop and safety, and can hold on to the gun in a fight for their life. The gun is actually fun to shoot and makes it easy to move to a higher caliber Walther model without much if any learning curve. Notably, ladies do not prefer the P22Q because of the change in the safety mechanism. This gun is picked time and time again when competitor's models are sitting side by side; but best of all there are many holster options available for this .22 LR that has become the choice of many women who are initially afraid of guns.

2. In The Mix

It is very important to note that other well-known top selling brands of handguns appropriate for concealed carry are included the mix during training. Unlike most surveys that are offered on social media and in many industry publications, typically there is never a comprehensive selection of all available competitive manufacturer handgun options from which to choose. SFWA does include those models in the mix and interestingly, when testing other handguns on the market, Walther Arms' P22 is a consistent winner among women for its trigger pull, ease of operation and accuracy in a gun that is easily concealed for self-defense purposes. This action and accuracy of this gun right out of the box provides the shooter with the ability to shoot multiple shots accurately, manipulate the action easily and feel confident that they will increase their odds they will prevail in a fight for their life when a lower caliber is what they are most comfortable shooting!

3. The Result

Sadly, women who rely on what others suggest consistently select concealed carry handguns without the benefit of being fully informed as to what is available in the market today. The Ladies Choice Awards are selected by fully informed students who have shot the handguns and have made educated decisions. The Ladies Choice Award winning product selections have the features and benefits that do not compromise the elements that will increase the odds of prevailing when seconds count. The result is that guns fit your unique qualities, are reliable and easier to control when you are in a fight for your life.

4. Who Weighs In

More than 100,000 women who have taken a minimum 4-8 hour course from SFWA Master Certified Instructors contribute to the selection of the best guns and gear for women. The selections are not the "preferences" of SFWA, its instructors or its affiliates. No one is provided compensation or other forms of persuasion that will affect the non-bias selection of the award winners. Unlike most surveys that are offered on social media and in many industry publications, there is always a comprehensive selection of all carry options from which to choose for the Ladies Choice Awards.

The overall criteria to be considered as a “Ladies Choice Award” recipient includes: a women-friendly company that designs products that actually work well for women, are easy for them to use, perform as they expect, and understands that it is NOT about pink [although customization options are appreciated]. Often, manufacturers make alterations to their existing products or create products at the direction of SFWA that meet the needs of women.

WALTHER ARMS received a 2015 LADIES CHOICE AWARD for Guns and Gear for the Modern Woman in Las Vegas . . .

NV, Las Vegas 1/22/2015:

Walther Arms was honored for the P22. "We have stood beside thousands of ladies who have shot a total of just a smidgen under a million rounds through four Walther P22s and the only thing that needed to be repaired on the guns was a spring now and then, that's it. They are reliable, are preferred over the less expensive SR22 made by a competing manufacturer, and offer ladies the option to move up to a higher caliber easily with the product line offered by Walther Arms", SFWA explained.  Cyndi Flannigan, VP of Sales and Marketing and Becky Bowen, National Accounts Manager and NRA Certified Instructor accepted the award, "I think you'll find that a lot of our products are really good for women, and what we are known for is our ergonomics and our grips.  We love being on the ground floor of [SFWA's] organization and your training." SFWA has used the P22 on the firing line since 2008.
